He has given massive hopes to Sri Lankan cricket.
I won't be surprised if this tournament fetches him an IPL contract. Because he has made so many people take notice of him. So, I will be very keen to follow Dasun Shanaka and hope, you guys will be looking forward to seeing him too.
The next player on our list is Dilshan Madushanka. He has also got a slingy action and it is not new for us to see a Sri Lankan quick emerge with a slingy action. Right from Lasith Malinga, we have seen in Matheesha Pathirana as well. Dilshan Madushanka might not be that slingy but he is slingy nevertheless. He has a beautiful outswing.
He is taking the ball away to the left-hander and bringing back in to the right-hander. Just like Shaheen Shah Afridi. We will see how he goes. I am sure he will start for them in the first game against Afghanistan. That match would have gotten over by the time this video releases. I guess he will be partnering Matheesha Pathirana. We need to talk about another important cricketer. Ashen Bandara.
He is a middle-order batter and he has been in exceptional form in Sri Lankan domestic circuit. Whether he will get a game or will they go with a Dhananjaya de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal in the middle. Because Dhananjaya de Silva gives them an off-spin option as well. So, Sri Lanka will weigh in these options before picking their playing XI. Another thing for them is with respect to Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka.

If their batters put enough runs on the board, their spin attack will take care of the rest. They have 4 very good spinners. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, and Mohammad Nabi. They will play either Noor Ahmad or a fast bowler based on the wicket. Their opening batters are Hazratullah Zazai, a left-handed powerhouse of an opening batter and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. But their entire batting is centered around Najibullah Zadran. A left-handed batsman who is traveling around the world playing a lot of T20 leagues.
Their entire batting setup will revolve around him for sure. Whether Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan give them the late order impetus with the bat will decide if they end up with par or par plus score with the bat. Especially in Sharjah where there won't be much grass on the wicket. So, that will definitely help Afghanistan. There are no matches in Abu Dhabi. So, definitely, Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan match will open the stage up on where each teams end. Because the third team is Bangladesh.
So, there are more chances that Sri Lanka and Afghanistan qualify from this group. Bangladesh is also going through turbulent times, guys. He has been a regular feature for them in the T20 format. But he is not there for this tournament. Instead, they have a similar template player, a clone of Ravindra Jadeja who has done well in tests and in PSL in Mohammad Nawaz. But we should give a special mention about their fast bowling stocks. We have a player watch from that as well. Recently,
Naseem Shah made his debut in Netherlands and produced a man-of-the-match performance there. He is a bit short compared to other fast bowlers. So, he is a bit skiddy and has outstanding yorkers. It will be interesting to see how he finds this T20 format.
Whether he will be like a fish seeing water? Well, we will wait and watch. He is an exciting fast bowler. They have another fast bowler in Mohammad Wasim and he is also bowling 140 clicks. He also performed really well recently in Netherlands. He has an injury scare and went for an MRI scan too. But he seems to be fine. Haris Rauf is their stock standard proven commodity.
They have brought Hasan Ali as a backup. Then they have Shahnawaz Dahani. He has been performing really well at the PSL in the last two years. He has the ability to constantly click 150 KPH. If this isn't enough already, they have got Mohammad Hasnain as well. He is an extremely sharp bowler who bowls real quick. All their fast bowlers click 140-145 KPHs consistently.
I don't think any team in world cricket has such a rich backup of fast bowlers. Pakistan has always been a side with so much raw talent on display. Wasim Akram has recently said that Pakistan is a team that is on the up and that on their day, they can take on any side. He has said that these are just exciting times for Pakistan cricket. We have a player from Pakistan as well on today's player watch. But before that, I need to talk about another important player.
All the experts and ex-players have rated this player very highly. It will be very interesting to see how he goes about in this tournament. A very promising batter. Of course, we all know Pakistan batting revolves around Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. But he can be a perfect third foil for them. I am talking about Haider Ali. This is a very important tournament for Haider Ali. He came as a promising cricketer from his U19 days.
He is in good form and has given good performances in the PSL. So, it will be interesting to see how he goes. Finally, we are good to see about Bangladesh in our squad assembly. Sabbir Rahman is also making a comeback into the side. It will be interesting to see how he goes about in this tournament. And the biggest news ahead of this important tournament is that they have changed their captain again and this time, it is Shakib Al Hasan. "You are our best player. Please lead this side."
